QuickTime 3 Reference
Timecode tracks were introduced in QuickTime 2.0. The Image Compression Manager and compressor components have been enhanced to support timecode information. The Image Compression Manager function SetDSequenceTimeCode allows you to set the timecode value for a frame that is to be decompressed.
